UN chief withdraws invitation for Iran to participate in Syria peace talks

This article discusses the reasons behind why U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon withdrew his invitation for Iran to participate in Syria peace talks. A spokesperson hinted that the reasons behing Ki-moon's withdrawal had something to do with the United State's objections and the Syrian opposition. To the United States government's surprise, Ki-moon invited Iran without demanding that it must publicly accept the condition that Bashar Assad must leave power. However, Iran refused to accept precautions leaving the United Nation's chief "deeply disappointed." Because of it denial to join the peace talk, the United Nation's chief decided to proceed with the peace talk without Iran.
